Emma Reviews What Was Big in 2011
Emma reviews what was big in 2011: Dip-dye lengths to glossy reds, loose waves, Bobs and crops were heaven in 2011!
Dip-dyed lengths went from subtle tones to the more adventurous being bolder! Graduated colour underneath from blonde tones on brown hair, brighter colours through blondes as worn by Stacey Solman and Nicola Roberts
Tones of red played a big part in 2011 and will continue into 2012 from vibrant reds and coppers through summer months to deep velvety plums/burgundy through the winter months just look at celebrity examples of Rihanna and Florence Welch!
Hair became a lot softer through 2011 with more texture and movement. Loose curls created either from big blow-dries or styling with GHD irons to create curls or waves a la Elle MacPherson
The Bob is such a CLASSIC hair style that can be adapted to suit anyone and has rarely gone out of style. From a sharp cut to a concave or longer or softer look (see Jessie J and Ferne Cotton)
Short hair made more of a comeback in 2011 with crop textured cuts or short layers with a softer A symmetric fringe e.g. Emma Watson and Frankie from the Saturdays’
MY STYLE PREDEICTIONS 2012:
- root lift going to stay
- softer fringes
- colours gradually getting lighter ready for spring/summer sun kissed look
